BUILDING RESTORATION
Architectural restoration
We renovate or reconstruct any element of a building or city. We include a wide range of activities, from cleaning the exterior façade to consolidating the foundations
Concept
Buildings are structures that need maintenance due to the passage of time. The type of restoration depends on the needs of the building and other circumstances, such as the state of conservation of the building or the type of machinery needed. There are three main types of restoration:
Cleaning: especially on the facade of the building. Usually in the buildings of large cities are those who need this work due to
pollution from factories and vehicles.
Repair: consolidation of deteriorated elements due to the passage of time or to the use.
Replacement: Reconstruction of badly deteriorated elements that do not allow a repair.
Not all the buildings to be restored follow the same pattern of the original design, it is common in complete restorations in the historic center of the cities to keep only the exterior structure of the building and completely replace the interior.
Conservation and Restoration
R.A.A. SERVICE stops the deterioration of architectural works by restoring their historical value and original condition. For that we examine the structure in order to identify the materials that fall into its composition and determine the causes of its deterioration.
Definition
Conservation involves management and research of the structural construction of the same "any method that is effective to maintain the architectural design as close to the original.
Renovations of historic buildings focus on restoration and preservation, restoring historical buildings to their former original states, producing renovated structures designed to respect, retain and restore the original historical character of the building for the enjoyment of future generations.
Conservation of Historic Buildings is more about promoting a deep appreciation of the structures, seeking a true preservation of a high level of authenticity. We accurately reproduce historical materials and techniques as much as possible, ideally using modern techniques only in a covert manner where they do not compromise the historical character of the structure's appearance.
Any historical renovation, especially involving remodeling and restoration, investigating the history of the structure, looking particularly for photographs from their origin, plans and other documentation that can help maintain the historic renovation.
In some cases, when the investigation determines which parts of a building have been changed or destroyed, it may be appropriate to restore the structure to its original designs, reversing alterations for structures that have been substantially altered over time.
